Singtel launched Apple Iphone 6S

Thanks to Singtel, DK and Wee Wu for extending the invitation to me to attend this special iphone 6S launch. I have never witness an iphone launch before even though I am a fan of iphone since iphone 4 ( I am still using it but will be getting the iphone 6S soon ).

It was a grand event where the first 10 customers get to receive gifts from Singtel Management staff on stage. The customers were well taken care after they left the stage. Personal attention have been given to each and everyone of the first 10 customers. 

Mr Yuen Kuan Moon, CEO of Consumer Singapore attended to the first customer, Mr. Daryl Lee Zhen Hui.  The second customer, Ms Charis Ng. was lucky to receive a big Hello Kitty goodies bag from a Management staff who attended to her. 

Here are some information gathered from the first two customers. Mr. Daryl Lee, a 31 years old working as a customer service staff was in the first in the queue at 4.45am. He was buying for himself an iphone 6S, Rose Gold ( the new colour for 6S ), 128GB. He had been using Singtel for the past 6 years. A fan of iphone. He commented that he just want to buy and collect the phone as soon as possible.

The second customer, Ms Charis Ng, a 26 years old, working as an Operation and Admin executive who came in at 5.30am. She opt for the same iphone configuration as the first customer. By coming here, she save on the queuing time and was able to go straight to work. She was on Singtel subscription for the past 1 year plus.

From what I was told, only Singtel organises new iphone launch in Singapore. The other telecommunication company do not have such a grand event launch. 

I am going to switch from M1 to Singtel when I purchase my iphone 6S, so that I can take advantage of mobile phone discount up to 30% on my family mobile phone bills. Any further discount for a Singtel and Iphone fan ?

Exciting Sony a7R II launch

It was a huge and exciting Sony event packed with workshops and held at the luxurious Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa hotel. It was a treat for those going for the event.

The launch of the second generation of ever popular a7R mirrorless camera, a7R II comes with impressive upgrades such as the 42.4 effective megapixels, 5-axis image stabilisation system borrowed from the acclaimed a7 II model, high-sensitivity ( expandable up to ISO 102400 ) and not forgetting a high–speed AF response up to 40 percent faster than the original a7R ( 399 focal plane phase-detection AF points ). In addition, it shoots 4K videos in multiple formats including Super 35mm and full-frame format, a world’s first for digital camera. It also has the world’s highest (0.78x) viewfinder magnification.

A series of workshops were conducted by Sony professional photographers from Singapore, Philippines, Thailand etc. 

Sony is an innovative leader in the mirrorless camera industry. With a7R II, photographers get to enjoy high-resolution, high-speed and high-sensitivity. This was not possible in the earlier models of a7 series. In fact, even before the Singapore launch, this powerful camera generates a lot of interests among photography and video industry including myself.

Sony did address and delivered as promise. We now have more high quality FE Zeiss and G lens created specially for the a7 series.

Participants to this launch were allowed to test out the new a7R II camera both indoor and outdoor shoot. We only 20 minutes to play around with the camera. It is understandable as there was overwhelming number of participants from various countries.

Sony Launches New 4K and Full HD Action Cams in Singapore

Sony is excited to announce that the much-anticipated Action Camera models, the FDR-X1000V and HDR-AS200V, will be available in Singapore from 9 April 2015 onwards.

The FDR-X1000V applies Sony’s expertise in 4K video production, added with features such as a ZEISS Tessar® lens with an ultra-wide angle 170 degree field of view, a back-illuminated Exmor R™ CMOS sensor and the acclaimed BIONZ X™ processor – making sure that the quality of video produced remains consistently strong across all shooting environments.

Separately, the HDR-AS200V allows you to capture footage in incredible Full HD quality. It shares many of the same advanced features and exciting technologies as the FDR-X1000V, including full pixel readout image, improved image stabilisation, clean HDMI output, and upgraded manual controls.

Fully control the Action Cam models with the new Live View Remote RM-LVR2. Strap it onto your wrist and start/stop recording, play movie (without sound) and delete unwanted files, all without even touching the camera. It is also useful when users need to check on framing prior to actual shooting, and is waterproof to up to 3 meters so you can continue controlling even when you’re doing watersports.
