The Beauty Inside 뷰티 인사이드 (Korean Movie 2015 ) Movie Review

The Beauty Inside 뷰티 인사이드 is a 2015 South Korean romantic fantasy comedy film based on the 2012 American social film The Beauty Inside, about a man who wakes up every day in a different body.
It is Director Baek Jong-yul or also known as Baik's feature film debut, after a career directing commercials. A total of 21 actors and actresses play the role of Woo-Jin. The movie is definitely in the spotlight since there is a record number of actors playing a single role in the movie.
Director: Baek Jong-Yeol
Writer: Kim Sun-JungPark Jung-Ye
Producer: Park Tae-Joon
Cinematographer: Kim Tae-Kyung

Movie Cast

Synopsis
Every morning, furniture designer Woo-Jin wakes up in a different body, regardless of age, gender and nationality. Sometimes he's a man, a woman, old, young, or even a foreigner. There is no change in his inner self, but externally he's always someone new. It is difficult to get used to whenever he look at a stranger face in the mirror.
The girl he loves, beautiful Yi-soo, knows his secret and loves him. Whenever Woo-Jin transforms, he must find a way to reunite with Yi-soo.
Personal Opinion
Although it is based on American film of the same title, but it gives an Asian feel to the movie. One thing for sure is that if you are a Korean drama fan, you get to see many familiar handsome and pretty Korean star faces when Woo-jin wake up every morning. Appearing one morning is one of my favourite Korean actress, Park Shin-hye from The Heirs (2013) and Pinocchio (2014-2015) fame.
At the beginning of the movie, I get very confused when Woo-jin keep changing his face. Slowly, I learnt to identify him with different faces as the story continue to build up. Woo-Jin love for Yi-Soo never change. Yi-Soo felt happy and at the same time felt the pressure with a different faces of her boyfriend. Further pressure from colleagues and family. Sometimes, too much of a good thing can also be a bad thing.

There were humorous moments in this movie when Woo-Jin turned into a small boy or an old man or old woman.
It is a strange but beautiful romantic story. Love can solve all problems. Love can also be a destroyer. In this case, the movie send a strong message. A true and long lasting love is someone who treasure and love a person inner beauty. The outer beauty of a person does not matter. Woo-jin may keep changing his appearances, but Yi-soo still love him with all her heart. They may faces many obstacles but love conquered them all. How their relationship ends, I shall leave it to you to watch the movie in the cinema.
In addition, the movie also talked about sincerity and also sacrifices for the good of the other party.
I shall rate the movie at 3.8/5. Do what the behind the scenes video provided at the end of my blog. It is quite interesting and funny. The movie will be showing in cinema on 17 Dec 2015, Singapore. Have fun watching !
